Gahanna Junior League Sports offers several recreational baseball and softball leagues, as well as travel baseball and softball.
T-Ball (ages 5-6)
Ball is hit from a tee with a transition to coach pitch when appropriate.
Instructional.
Games and practices held at Goshen Lane Elementary School.
T-Ball is offered only during the Spring season.
A-Minor (ages 6-7)
Baseball. 7 year olds may also play A-Major if they are comfortable batting against Player Pitch.
Instructional.
Coach pitch entire game from 40 feet. 60 foot bases.
Days – Friday, Wednesday, & Saturday. A-Minor is played at Academy Park and Woodside Green. Please note: while GJLS will do everything possible to stick to this, there may be some exceptions. Every attempt will be made to minimize exceptions.
A-Major (ages 7-8)
Baseball. 7 year olds may also play A-Minor if they wish to bat only against Coach Pitch.
Instructional.
Coach pitch during innings 1-3. Player pitch during innings 4-6. Pitching from 40 feet. 60 foot bases.
Days – Monday, Friday, & Saturday. A-Major is played at Academy Park. Please note: while GJLS will do everything possible to stick to this, there may be some exceptions. Every attempt will be made to minimize exceptions.
AA (ages 9-10)
Baseball.
Instructional.
Player pitch entire game from 46 feet. 60 foot bases
Base runners cannot lead-off; Stealing 2B and 3B allowed after ball has passed the batter.
Days – Monday/Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday. AA is played at Academy Park. Please note: while GJLS will do everything possible to stick to this, there may be some exceptions. Every attempt will be made to minimize exceptions.
AAA (ages 11-12)
Baseball.
Instructional.
Player pitch from 50 feet. 70 foot bases.
Stealing all bases permitted on the pitcher’s first movement. No leadoffs.
Days- Monday, Wednesday, & Saturday. AAA is played at Jefferson Elementary, Academy Park, and Hannah Park. Please note: while GJLS will do everything possible to stick to this, there may be some exceptions. Every attempt will be made to minimize exceptions.
Pony League Baseball (ages 13-14)
Baseball.
Instructional.
Player pitch from 54 feet. 80 foot bases.
Pony Baseball begins in late May and runs into July.
Gahanna’s Pony team plays in Columbus Ohio Baseball Rec League (COBRA). Away games will be played around the Columbus area.
8U Softball (ages 7-8)
Girls Softball
Instructional.
Game Day: Saturday, 2 games per week starting 8/18.
Practice Days: Determined by coaches closer to season.
Practice Location: Gahanna Middle School West
GJLS softball teams will be playing in the Lakewood Fall Softball League in Hebron, OH. Games will be played at either Lakewood High School or Canal Park.
10U Softball (ages 9-10)

Game Day: Sunday, 2 games per week starting 8/18.
Practice Days: Determined by coaches closer to season.
